Cafe Du Monde

One of the things I was most excited about was visiting Cafe Du Monde for new orleans style coffee and beignets. I hopped on down to the original one to wait in a long ass line.
It doesn’t matter when you go here, it’s going to be busy. There’s table service and also a take-out line. Either way, you’re going to wait. It’s crazy and crowded and the servers run around all over the place.
The beignets come in orders of three and they’re surprisingly large and puffy, yet dense. Oh man, when these come out all hot and greasy, you can’t help but scarf them down. It comes with a shocking heap of powdered sugar on top. The funniest thing is that everyone that’s here gets powdered sugar all over their laps. The servers have it all over their entire bodies, it’s rather hilarious. It’s like a rite of passage, getting powdery white stuff all over you. If I had easy access to this place, I’d surely be 1000 lbs.

OZO Coffee – Boulder

Boulder certainly doesn’t have a shortage on coffee shops. Before heading back to the big city, we stopped by OZO Coffee, which is a neighborhood shop in a stripmall. Wow, was this place ever packed. This place is really colorful and comfortable. It’s one of the least snootiest coffee shops I’ve ever been to. They’ve got all kinds of coffee, food, chocolates, and random eats for sale.
They also have their own beans for sale.
I wanted a decaf iced coffee but they didn’t have any. So they made me a decaf americano and put it on ice. That was just fine by me! It was perfect for our drive back to Denver. And for it being late morning when we stopped by, the place was still jumping when we left. I’ll miss you Boulder!

Atlas Purveyors – Boulder

When it comes to coffee shops, Boulder’s got a plethora of them. Really, how do you decide which one to go to? Well, just look at the window of Atlas Purveyors. You can’t help but want to go inside. Plus, it’s called Atlas Purveyors!
This place is modern and clean. But it’s still warm and without pretense. On a random weekday, this place was absolutely packed. Really, every seat was taken with laptopped coffee lovers. You can get your drinks with regular milk, soy, rice, or almond milk. And you know what’s crazy good? A latte with steamed almond milk. This is going to be my standard from now on, whenever possible.
They also have a big wall that is a designated graffiti area. So stop in and get to scribblin! Oh, and the drinks are priced very reasonably. It surprised me!
