Tartine Snacks

Sunday was our last day in the bay area. I headed back into San Francisco to spend the day in the big city. Before heading to Golden Gate Park, J treated me to some delicious pastries at Tartine. It’s a little corner spot and there are always lines around the corner to get some of their vittles. What’s that all about? I don’t know. But apparently, it happens all the time. Like it’s expected. And all the people are fine with it. I’m not into lines so I don’t know if I would care for that.
After waiting in this line (which ended up being not too bad), we took our snacks to Dolores Park. The croque monsieur with ham. Hubba hubba. Good stuff. And it’s made with country bread that they make daily in their brick oven. That’s a tiny little pickled carrot. It was weird, spicy, yet I was drawn to it.
Some sweeter treats: lemon cream tart and banana cream tart. Yum and yum.

Gluttony At Ghirardelli

After the Ferry Building, we continued our SF tourism day and headed to the Marina area. We passed fisherman’s wharf, pier 39, and all that jazz. To continue our day of not healthy eating (all we’d really eaten was that loaf of bread), we decided to gorge on chocolate at Ghirardelli.
Some ice cream treats. It was an extremely dreary and slightly rainy day, and I was cold. So I got a hot chocolate instead, which was perfect and dreamy. Touristy? Yes. Delicious? Hellz yes.

Jonesin For Dessert

After the comedy show taping, it was a bit cold and we were feeling peckish, so we went to get some dessert at Jones. Oh, and we had an amazing central table for the show, so I’m fairly confident that our goofy mugs will get on comedy central and the dvd. Yey!
It was pretty cold out that night, so we all got some hot chocolate. Just the plain hot chocolate, not the boozy one. It was just what we all needed. But we all wished it had lots of mini marshmallows, and not one big one. That would have made it just right.
R and I split the peanut butter cup ice cream sandwich. I dug it, even though it was cold. Props to Jones for not kicking us out. We were just sitting there gabbing and didn’t realize that the place had closed. But they just let us gab. I like that in any restaurant.
