Lost Finale Eats

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, or unless you were smart enough not to get sucked into the lost netherworld, you know that Lost recently ended its six season run. Say what you will about the finale, it was still a good reason to get together and eat. I will miss these little island themed shindigs. Look at these adorable little mini tomato, basil, and mozzarella with balsamic stackers. So damn cute!

A fruit mix with the most incredible strawberries I’ve had in a long time. Wherever these strawberries came from, I want to go to there!

It wouldn’t be a Lost party without shrimp cocktail and chips and guac/salsa! The salsa was decidedly spicier than expected.

The entree of the evening was chicken fajitas. Here are their fixins.

And here are the chicken fajita innards… chicken, onions, and peppers in fajita seasoning. Also, here’s some spanish rice from a packet. And lastly, some fish, for those who felt inclined not to have chicken fajitas. Everything turned out great! Goodbye Lost!

Spring Feastival At Comcast Center

There’s a pretty fancy schmancy food court at the lower floor of the shiny Comcast Center. Yelp had a Spring Feastival there the other week and I got to take a gander, before it was open to the public. All the vendors were out showcasing their delicious wares. Termini Bros had major cannoli action going on. And even though it was somewhat still morning-ish, I had to try it. Nice.
Speaking of Termini Brow, they also had one of their cake dudes decorating a cake. He had just begun, but it was already looking quite lovely.

Speaking of desserts, gelato. The lemoncello one was amazing!

Of course there was sushi, courtesy of Tokyo Sushi.

And while we’re on an asiany bent, some fresh spring rolls from Sook Hee Produce. They had various ones – chicken, shrimp, tofu, whatever would float your spring roll boat. These were pretty good, except for the fact that they put celery in it. Stop this immediately! Celery should not be in here at all. It ruins it! Thank you, now off my soapbox.

Under the “C” Seafood had some shrimpies going on.

Here are some deep fried somethings from Mexican Post. These were particularly terrible.

Di Bruno Bros had some cheese out and about!

But they truly won over my heart because they were slicing up some prosciutto. It was amazing. I saw what they were selling it for, and damn, I probably ate like $20 worth of cured pork. And well, I could have eaten more, if they would have let me. As my brother says, if you have the option, always eat the value!

Shindig At The Hard Rock Hotel Orlando

We had a little customer appreciation thingy at the Hard Rock Hotel for our lovely customers. In addition to drinks, of course, we had a little bit of food action too. One of the favorite items of the evening, grilled cheese shooters! Look how adorable these things are! It’s a little shot glass with tomato soup and a piece of grilled cheese shoved inside. Cute and freakin tasty!

They also had these vegetarian spring rolls with plum dressing. Now I typically love me some spring rolls / egg rolls with shrimp or chicken or what not in them, but these little veggie ones were great! The plum sauce was perfect, but it was extremely sticky! It was kind of hard to get it off the spoon and onto your plate.

They also had these little mini beef wellingtons with cumberland sauce. I don’t know what beef welling is so I looked it up. I don’t know if these mini ones had pate in them. I also don’t know what cumberland sauce is so I looked it up too. I don’t think this one was fruit based. However genuine or non-genuine these were, all I know is that I liked them.

They also had some people walking around with other appetizers. One of them were these adorable little mini puff pastries filled with crab and mango salsa. Delicious! For a little hotel catered evening, the food was great!
