Eating At Work – Al Fresco

So I was in Winston-Salem on business visiting a leading apparel company. I won’t name names, but just sing to yourself, wait til we get our ___ on you! They have a beautiful campus. Like seriously beautiful. With a jogging trail and tons of land and even a lake type thing. And tons of outdoor spots for dining. And it’s hot here people. Hot and sunny. So I enjoyed myself a little outdoor dining with my giant heap of taco salad from their cafeteria. And pink lemonade.

Grillin At Work!

M is a master fisherman. I’m pretty sure that’s his thing. And a few weekends ago, he caught a whole mess of tuna. And the following week, C marinated them with some kind of honey lime cilantro marinade/glaze and we busted out the grill at work. Oh Chef Donald, how I miss you, giver of delicious, yet late work lunches. But if we were only going to grill once this entire summer, I’m glad it was for this. I don’t even typically like fresh tuna (I like tuna fish in a can) but this particular marinated and grilled tuna was pretty damn good. So damn good I need the damn recipe.

Apple Spice Junction Kabobs

On Tuesday, work lunch was kabobs from Apple Spice Junction. Of the caterers we use, they’re one of my favorites. There were meat and chicken ones, and while I’m usually a beef person, the chicken ones were far superior. They were supposed to be teriyaki kabobs, but they tasted more like soy sauce kabobs. They were still pretty good though. And the rice pilaf wasn’t bad either. But really, they just made me think of a song…

“Let’s get in a cab
I’ll buy you a kebab!
Now I can’t believe
That I’m sharing a kebab with the most beautiful girl
I have ever seen with a kebab”
