Moroccan Spice And Sauce

I like going to World Market whenever I go across the border into Delaware. They are the only ones that carry the Tiger Tiger chicken tikka sauce that I dearly love. The last time I was there, I picked up this moroccan style spice and sauce mix. I thought I’d give it a whirl this past week.
You first cook up the chicken and add the dry spice mix. I added an onion just for kicks.
After the chicken is cooked through for a bit, you add the wet sauce mix and simmer for awhile. It ended up fine and dandy, but it wasn’t anything great. In fact, it tasted a bit indian-ish. And really, it tasted a bit like the chicken tikka. But if I wanted chicken tikka, I would have made chicken tikka. All in all, a decent experiment, but nothing I need to repeat.

Wimpy’s Shake

Last weekend, we were roaming around Delaware County and stopped by Wimpy’s for some shakes. It’s a burger and shake place in a cute little house on 252. And it’s not a chain!I’ve never eaten here, but heard the burgers aren’t that exciting. Good, but not great. A got a burger though, and she enjoyed it. But she is also about 7 months pregnant, so maybe her opinion is a little bit swayed at this point ! :-) I will tell you that the peanut butter swirl shake I got was damn good. But it took forever for them to make it. Speed is not their forte! But at least the wait was worth it. I’ll have to try the burgers next time.

Just Desserts, Please

We had our quarterly meeting at ACE Conference Center this week. The food was mediocre, as usual. But behold the strawberry amaretto cake and the banana chocolate cream pie. F’in good, man.
